I should have learned from my first pre-order experience. But no. I thought the whole 3 strikes rule should apply. Well, instead I’m finding the fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me rule is more fitting.

I pre-ordered this with a mother’s day gift card. I was so thrilled that my family bought me the gift card with the intentions that I could purchase this item since it was not released before mother’s day.

Well, I was under the impression that it was scheduled to ARRIVE by June 8th which I know to be a safety net for shipping time. And, I opted not to cancel the order, re-order it and choose next day shipping when I received the email suggesting that because I know that my items are always recieved within 2-3 days of shipment from Amazon. But, instead this PRE-ORDER is scheduled to be SHIPPED on June 8th instead which means I am now stuck waiting until the estimated delivery of June 15 or June16!!!!

To top it all off, I can’t cancel my order because “we are preparing this order to ship.” Well, it’s June 3rd. It now takes 5 days to put a game in a box, print a shipping label, and stick it on the box?? Wow.

Never again will I pre-order anything from Amazon.

*Please note, my star rating was required so I just guessed that I will love it as much as I’ve loved the original and second games.

  2. I have tried demo’s of this game and I find it amazing but Amazon has screwed up and didn’t ship it for five days after ordering it. I was hoping to get it for my birthday but now I have to wait two more days for it ESTIMATED time of arrival. But that probably still won’t be enough time for this horrible company.

  4. Ok the wait is over and all you Sims head wanted this new version. Don’t think it will Wow you or kick you off your chair. First off this is a monster of an installment. On My PC XP it took me over 20 minutes or more to get through this installment. You think it stop but annoyingly it just taking it time. You have to wait it out, don’t do what I did and sit and wait. You need over 6.5 GB space and another GB for cache and it goes up from there as you add things like Sims 2. Ok after you when to the movies and had dinner and come back. All is well, this version load real fast. But again as you add packs and stuff it be that monster Sims 2 would be. Do register the game if you want updates, if you have account with Sims 2 just log in using your old account name or email address. Sims 2 & Sims3 mirror each other you account information shows up in both the websites for the two games and you could use your point for either game. But Stuff from the two version are only made for that version you can’t stick Sims 2 item with Sims 3 same as the original version. Register the game with the game Serial key and they give you 1,000 Sims points to buy whatever. Also you get a free car enter the code and install it. I got the hard cover guide book anyway. But you get 25% off an eBooks. I prefer the hard copy books. The USB Green Diamond is cool. But could break if you bang it around. The teen girls would love it around their neck and school.

On the word EA has this policy of limit installment and Limted Activations. Read the very fine prints. You can’t dump this game on every PC in the house and all your friends laptops. This atarted a War when Spore came out and no one could reinstall the game without calling EA. Expect this to happen to you also. Just a word from the wise. If you wondering why you can’t reinstalled the game afte a reformaed of hard drive.

It a step up from Sims 2, but I’m disappointed that it more candy eye then what I had seem in Sims 2. There are great new feature. The interface it better and camera angles more like a War game view and the lay is very larger and more room to drop things. There the same edit the sim and building the house up and floor planning also. But nothing Wow this or that. Maybe when the zillion added packs and stuff could add to the over all fun as Sims 2 did and cause my PC to take nine hours to log Sims 2 with all the packs and stuff on it.

Don’t let me change your mind and don’t get the game. This is where Sims series is going and keep with the trend. But newie to the series this is a great place to start, you don’t need Sims 2. Go forward and not back. This is a type of game older version are step backwards and trend to have it limiations then with the new version. Save your money, go get the Console version or DS Sims of older Sims 2 if you feel you want to play the older version. The tend to play well on that media.

On Laptop I notice users are having their problems. Understand what it takes to run this game. Read the Tech requirements. It may take twice as long to get the game on the Laptop then Desktop. But so look at the Blog at EA Help website to see how the problem. The Support from EA is first rated and they get you thru your problems as I did. First off before you install this game. Upgrade your video/Sound drivers on your PC/Laptop this goes a long way on stopping any problems you may have in installing or playing the game. Espeically on Older PC/Laptops.

Sims 3 is a hugh monster of a game for PC/MAC game and it rules there. Forget the console/portable version. For the full experence and full fun a very large hard drive PC is where you play this game for 24/7 knowing how you will eat this game up and age as the SIMS do in the game. Good luck I ope this could help you have fun.

I could go on and on and on but I think some other reviewers have really covered whats in the game very well.

I am writing a review because there are so many negative ones here.

First off, I have not had 1 bug, crash, etc. (watch me jinx myself) yet and I have been addicted to it since it arrived on the 2nd. The problem I think if that people did not read the specs? You need a decent computer to run this game but if you are a gamer, this should be a problem.

Second, the game play is fun! Yes, its not perfect, it never will be, it is a game. I think expansion packs will make it even more fun but the game is well, fun! I love being able to check out the WHOLE town at any given time. You can zoom out and literally scan the entire town to say, find a place to meet people? You can go to a public gym and a public library and yes you can see inside. You can’t go inside resturants/work but you can eat outside. The graphics are very nice and creating sims is a blast.

Third, I cannot compare this game to previous versions much. I played the first Sims for awhile, but I quit. I played the Sims 2 for a very short time as it just didn’t really cut it for me. Hoewver, The Sims 3 I love.

If you really want a good look into the game before you buy it. Go to your local bookstore, find the Prima Guide and flip through it. I own that too and its very helpful (and amusing). You can get a great feel for the game before you shell out nearly $70.

To the people who couldn’t get codes, downloaded content, etc. to work: clearly they did not read the directions on how to obtain said items properly.

    2 Thumbs Up!
