Sumdex Netbook Messenger Bag for Notebooks up to 10.6 Inches

Pros: Layout, Plenty of compartments considering size, nice design, sturdy construction, decent padding, price.
Cons: Strap is sewn on, no handle on top, side logo, zippers are noisy while walking.
Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a very nice little netbook bag. I immediately covered the side logo with black sharpie. It was not my taste. I have an Asus Eee PC 1005HA, along with an ASUS 08D1S optical drive.
My Loadout– Rear compartment optical drive, netbook in main compartment, Microsoft 3000 notebook mouse in zippered top compartment, along with the USB cord for the optical drive. The front compartment contains my usb flashdrive, earbuds, a microfiber cloth, an audio out cable, 2 heavy ink pens, & the power adapter for my netbook.
Everything fits fine without any bulges. Nothing is pressed for space & there is actually enough space to squeeze in a few more items up front. There is also a small compartment inside with the netbook that can hold small manuals, a couple cds/dvds or any other small flat items.
I am very pleased, since my full-sized Targus Groove was too much for my needs. Other than my very picky cons, this bag is perfect. I am surprised it is not a top-seller.

I was looking around quite a bit for a bag for my Asus eee PC1000HA which has a 10 inch screen. This bag is just the right size for it or any other 10 inch or smaller size.
I like the vertical style because it is more unobtrusive. It has good organization inside, and the padding seems sufficient.
My only grip about this bag is the shoulder strap. I would prefer a removable kind that could be replaced with what kind I wanted, or I would like to see the shoulder strap a bit wider or have padding on it. The Asus is a bit on the heavy side at over 3 pounds and with other things, the weight does warrant at least a shoulder pad.
The build quality of this bag is very nice and a good price too.

I recently bought this bag because none of the bags I’ve found that are made specifically for my ASUS Eee PC 901 have shoulder straps. And I like having my hands free when I’m out and about.
This bag appears well-made, and I like the feel of the exterior fabric. The compartments are lined in gray nylon, which is a little better than black for visibility of the contents but not as light-colored as I might wish.
The main compartment opens widely with a zipper that goes around three sides, and is padded all around. There’s a side pocket in the main compartment into which my little Eee slips snugly. I think that the average sized small notebook (the bag tag says it fits most 10.6″ screen notebooks) would be placed in the main area of the compartment, with the side pocket used for accessories. When I’m not carrying my Eee, I will probably be carrying my Kindle in that side pocket.
The front-opening compartment, unlike some I’ve seen, is really big enough to be useful, with pen loops, a couple of small pockets and enough room for my wallet and other stuff that doesn’t fit into those fussy little credit card sized slots, with which thankfully this bag is not oversupplied. A small third compartment is on top in front of the main compartment, accessed by its own zipper, and would work for an iPod, a cell phone or anything small that you’d want fast access to without having to rummage around. (In my case, keys.)
The shoulder strap is adjustable, which allows for carrying across-the-body when I really want to go hands-free or more casually over one shoulder. However, the strap is not removable (sewn in at each side).
I expect to use this bag often. Because it holds my Eee (and/or Kindle), with plenty of room for other things, I will put all my usual “purse” stuff in it and not carry a separate handbag.
Bottom line, this looks like good value for the price, a versatile mid-sized bag for use around town and when traveling, with a padded main compartment to provide some protection for small electronics.
Updated later to add: I have now bought another bag with a shoulder strap which is marketed for 7 to 10 inch Asus Eee PCs: Asus Eee Pc 7-10 Inch Laptop Case by Case Logic. I like it, and can see using it for traveling with the 901 and some around-town uses when my MT-3 is stuffed full of other things.
