We really wanted a scale for our baby to measure her weight gain. After reading the reviews, we thought we found the best scale at a fair price. But, the scale proved to be very inaccurate. One day, she was gaining and then the next day she lost weight. We were worried about it, so went to the doctor and found out she had indeed gained 3 ounces. This big a discrepency for a newborn is unacceptable. So, be careful when you buy this item.

We are still waiting for the arrival of our babies but have tested out the scale and generally think that it is a very good item. The scales seems easy to read and looks like it will be quite stable for weighing babies.

This scale is defective! From day one it has shown us a wrong weight for our 4 month old son. We bought it cause he was not putting on enough weight and we wanted to monitor his weight form home. Everytime we weighted him at home we were so happy to see that he has put on weight, but when we went to his pediatrician we were shocked to see that actually he was more than a pound off. We have always weighed him at home just before going to the pediatrician to compare what the difference may be so we can account for it, but it is never consistent! Sometimes it is more than a pound off sometimes more and sometimes even less. I have not contacted customer service as yet but will do so soon. My advice don’t buy this scale.

I wanted this scale so I could weigh my baby before and after nursing to monitor how much milk she was getting like I was doing at a mothers group before returning to work. Unfortunately it is very sensitive to movement so it is hard to get a precise reading down to fractional ounces…it fluctuates a lot unless the baby is completely still. But it is still nice to have for monitoring weight gain and will probably be more useful when she is older.
