I brought all three in this series and really wish i hadn’t, still you take a punt.So what was wrong , she started well with plenty of pace , then somewhere along the line it turned into Mills and Boon with zombies.Character and plot developement were nil and the ridiculous device of having the dead speaking from beyond the grave,it just silly, i can believe in the undead after brains but the dead materializing to help the living ,its just weak. There were a few superfluous characters like the senator and if she expanded the theme of the government trying to gain control of the survivors and played with the plotline it might have turned out a better series. If you want to read a good zombie book get World War Z, in fact buy it three times instead of getting this trilogy

I really like the first two books and this one had lots of potential with it’s crazy Nancy Pelosi type Senator and the discovery of the other survivors at Madison. Katie and Jenni telling each other how much they love each other and recounting their stories again and again got more then old. In addition, she overplays the gay angle again in this one and sneaks in some PC political innuendo as well. Her characters are a little too predictable and overwhelmingly so in this book. It was a good read, but I would do yourself a favor and buy this one used.

  3. So I picked up this book at Horror Realm in Pittsburgh in Sept. Rhiannon signed it for me and I just finished reading it, after finishing Fighting to Survive last week and I am so elated. This was such a great zombie trilogy. I have never read a zombie novel with such in-depth characters with such massive emotional highs and lows. This trilogy will draw you in instantly with the opening chapter and when you close Siege you are going to be glad you were lucky enough to find and read these books.

First off, The situation is grim right off the bat with an utterly vicious betrayal and rapidly gets worse from there. Siege brings about a world shattering conclusion to an epic zombie trilogy. You are going to love it.

Second off, Desperately in need because of the betrayal the survivors have to take some chances they would rather not take and some risks are too high….

Third off, the pay off of this book is soo good. soo many folks you hate are met with utter disaster and soo many folks you love are changed forever. I love this book very much. The grand scale of the ambitions of the characters and the heart breaking tragedy are all here.

All of the things you were hoping would happen don’t… all of the things you pray would not happen do in some cases… It is a chaotic time for the characters and a wonderfully worded vividly pictured climactic ending to a fantastic series for the reader.

I truly wish there were more. I am going to miss these characters and I am going to miss this whole world. I loved it very much.

There are a few very touching moments in here to be savored and a lot of tragic ones to be mourned over, all in all I would say hands down this is the utterly best zombie fiction out there. Bar none.

So if you have not read this series yet and you have not gotten a glimpse into this fascinating world, then I highly recommend you buy them all right now, today!!! Then get reading, you will not regret it for an instant.

Thank you Rhiannon, so very much.

I love your work, I love what you have accomplished here and while I am very sad to leave this world behind, I am also very anxious to read more of your works, so please keep writing…. for all of us.

  4. Rhiannon Frater….you will be hearing that name everywhere soon! What a great trilogy! Tiny fingers opens it all and you get sucked right in! This trilogy is great for someone who wants to be taken along for the ride – I like to read really involved stories like this and I wasn’t disappointed! The zombies are great because they are classic – no talking, reasoning, infected, etc…just good ol’ Romero types and I love that. Great books, pick them up! You won’t be disappointed!

  5. For me, a great book draws me in, causes me to care what happens to the characters in it … makes me want to celebrate their good fortunes, as well as cry with the sorrows, and this book does all that. After three books, Katie and Jenny are family and you cry, scream, fight beside them all the way. I am not ashamed to say that this book made cry, and when a story can get to you on that level, the writer has done their job, and well.
